But even within vaping communities there are a few arguments that bother me, and they tend to deal with eliquid vaping vs vaping anything else (like wax, dry herb, or hemp/CBD oil). The astonishing thing is that the same people who argue their right to vaping as a stop smoking tool will turn around and blame vapers of other materials as 'part of the problem'. They claim that the existence of wax, dry herb, or other non-nicotine replacement vaporizers are 'giving vaping a bad name'
This really ignores that nicotine replacement vaping actually grew out of the other vaping product. The very product being claimed as 'civil rights' would not exist without the wax and dry herb vaping communities that preceded them.
But my problem is more basic than that, it is the very contention that one person's right to make a health choice for themselves is superior to another person's right to make a different health choice for themselves. We can argue all day about the reality of health benefits claimed by the wax/dry herb community and the hemp/cbd oil communities. We can argue all day about the health benefits vs risks of nicotine replacement vaporizers. But if we are going to argue that people have a right to choose then we must argue that ALL people have a right to make similar choices, not just people making the exact same choice we do.
We have seen employees of nicotine replacement vape shops deface our social media, and organize mass negative reviews of our site because somehow these have been made into competing interests.
I will tell you this without hesitation. If you believe you have a 'right' to vape for nicotine replacement purposes but a child born with a seizure disorder does not have a right to vape CBD oil then you are uninformed or an asshole. There is simply no in between. If you believe you have the right to cut your cancer risk, but would deny a terminal cancer patient whatever modicum of relief vaping wax or dry herb product might provide then then you are not in this battle for a cause, you are in this battle purely as a self serving means to an end.
The people making these arguments are not being intellectually honest. And there is a reason: these people are actually the enemy of all vapers. They are the plants and stooges sent to drive us apart because the easiest way to defeat us is simply to turn us on ourselves.
The truth is, whether you want to vape to replace nicotine, relieve pain, stop seizures, or a myriad of other reasons you are on the same side. You are fighting for the rights of individuals, not governments, to dictate health decisions. It is the same basic right, and it undermines the integrity of your argument when you claim that your group should have a right but another group should not.
We need to come together, ALL VAPERS. We need to stand together and say we ALL have a right to make decisions about what we think is best for our health. A house divided against itself can not stand.
