How To Clean Your Glass

What you'll need:

  • Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) 70% or higher
  • Cooking salt or Epsom salt
  • Paper towels
  • Ziplock baggies
  • Rubber bands (optional)
  • Pipe cleaners/wire hangers (optional)

Step 1:

Disassemble your bong. If you have any removable pieces, such as the downstem, bowl, or ash catcher, remove them and set them aside.

Step 2:

Run hot water through your bong to loosen up any resin or debris. This will make it easier to clean later.

Step 3:

Pour salt into the base of your bong. The amount of salt you use will depend on the size of your bong. A good rule of thumb is to use about one-fourth to one-half cup of salt.

Step 4:

Pour alcohol over the salt. Again, the amount of alcohol you use will depend on the size of your bong. A good rule of thumb is to use about twice as much alcohol as salt.

Step 5:

Seal the bong. You can do this by wrapping paper towels tightly around the mouthpiece and downstem, or by using a ziplock bag. If you're using a ziplock bag, squeeze out as much air as possible before sealing it.

Step 6:

Shake! Shake the bong vigorously for about five minutes. This will help to loosen up the resin and debris.

Step 7:

Rinse the bong. Once you've finished shaking, rinse the bong with hot water. This will remove the alcohol and salt, and leave your bong sparkling clean.

Step 8:

Dry the bong. Be sure to dry your bong completely before using it again. This will help to prevent the growth of mold or bacteria.

Tips:

  • If you have a lot of resin buildup, you may need to let the bong soak in the alcohol and salt solution for a few hours before shaking it.
  • You can also use a pipe cleaner or wire hanger to scrub away any stubborn resin.
  • Be sure to wear gloves when handling the alcohol and salt.
  • Store your bong in a clean, dry place when you're not using it. This will help to prevent it from getting dirty again. Y
